
FULL-TIME TRAINING
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENT:
- Secondary school diploma (FOR) or an equivalent school qualification, or
- Advanced secondary general school diploma, or
- Secondary school diploma and a completed vocational training of at least 2 years
TRAINING
SCOPE:
- The training program comprises a total of 3,000 hours:
- 2,000 hours of theoretical and practical lessons
720 hours of practical training in a podology practice
280 hours of medical internship
TRAINING
ORGANIZATION:
You can achieve the state-recognized qualification within 2 years.
The 2,000 hours of classroom training are completed in block sessions from Monday to Friday. Typically, there are 6–8 weeks of block lessons alternating with 6–8 weeks of internship time. Class hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
The 1,000 practical training hours are completed in suitable podology practices and/or medical institutions. We work with several partner organizations where these hours can be completed easily and efficiently.

CONTENT:
According to the Podology Training and Examination Regulations, the following subjects are taught, among others:
Professional, Legal, and Civic Knowledge
Anatomy
Physiology
General Pathology
Psychology, Pedagogy, Sociology
Specialized Pathology
Hygiene and Microbiology
Pharmacology, Material and Product Knowledge
Theoretical Foundations of Podological Treatment
Podological Treatment Procedures (practical lessons)
Podological Materials/Tools (practical lessons)
CERTIFICATION AND EXAMINATION:
During your training, you will be prepared for the state examination for podologists through regular exam simulations.
The state examination is conducted by an examination board appointed by the Düsseldorf Health Authority. The state exam includes:
1 written exam in Anatomy and Physiology (90 minutes)
1 written exam in General and Specialized Pathology (90 minutes)
1 written exam in Professional, Legal, and Civic Knowledge (60 minutes)
1 oral exam in Specialized Pathology
1 oral exam in Hygiene and Microbiology
1 oral exam in Podological Treatment Care
1 oral exam in Pharmacology and Product Knowledge
1 practical exam with at least 2 patient treatments (in the training room)
1 practical exam on making Orthonyxia splints and orthoses
